Editorial guidelines
How Coinculb researches, writes, reviews and corrects — including our full exchange review methodology and scoring criteria.
Last updated 6 August 2026
This page sets out how Coinculb produces what it publishes. It applies to every guide, article and review on the site.
Sourcing
We work from primary sources wherever one exists: protocol documentation and source code, exchange fee schedules and terms, on-chain data, regulatory filings and official announcements. We do not treat other crypto publications as sources of fact. Where a claim rests on a single source that we cannot corroborate, we say so in the text.
Articles making factual or numerical claims carry a Sources block listing what they were checked against.
Writing and review
Every article is drafted by one person and reviewed by a second before publication. The reviewer checks claims against the cited sources, checks that jargon is defined before use, and checks that risk is stated proportionately rather than tucked into a closing line. Body prose is written by people, not generated.
Plain language
Our readers are largely beginners, so: define a term the first time it appears; prefer the short word; explain the mechanism before the implication; and avoid the passive constructions that make an uncertain claim sound settled. If a sentence would not survive being read aloud to someone new, it gets rewritten.
How we review exchanges and tools
Reviews follow a fixed process so that scores are comparable across platforms.
- We use the product. We open a real account, complete identity verification where required, make a real deposit, place a real trade and complete a real withdrawal. Withdrawal is where platforms most often disappoint, and a review that skips it has tested only the easy half.
- We score against fixed criteria. Six dimensions, weighted identically for every platform: fees (25%), security and custody (25%), usability for a beginner (20%), asset and market coverage (10%), support responsiveness (10%), regulatory standing and jurisdiction coverage (10%).
- We name the intended reader. The best platform for a first purchase is rarely the best for active trading. Every review states who it suits and who it does not.
- We date and re-check. Fee schedules and features change. Every review carries the date it was last verified, and stale reviews are marked as such rather than left looking current.
- We disclose. Any affiliate relationship is stated above the content.
Analysis and forecasting
Market analysis must state its time horizon explicitly and show its reasoning, not only its conclusion. We do not publish price targets as predictions. Scenario discussion must include the assumptions it rests on and what would falsify it.
Corrections
Errors are corrected on the article, with a dated note describing what changed. Substantive corrections are never made silently. To report an error, use contact us; corrections are the one category of message we prioritise.
What we will not publish
- Paid or incentivised coverage of any coin or project.
- Price guarantees, “guaranteed returns”, or multiplier claims such as “100x”.
- Content whose purpose is to place a link.
- Articles under invented author identities.
- Anything that pressures an inexperienced reader toward a transaction.
